Maya Angelou is schrijver, dichter, actrice, had een moeilijke jeugd, is vaak getrouwd en speelde een belangrijke rol in de African-American Civil Rights Movement. Kort gezegd, voor veel Afro-Amerikanen is Maya Anglou, naast Oprah, God. Voor Oprah Winfrey is ze God. Je zou dus verwachten dat deze dame, net als Oprah, zich volledig achter Barack Obama zou scharen. Niets is echter minder waar, Maya Angelou is namelijk voor Hillary:
